Product Description


The 16488HB 10-DOF smart inertial measurement unit IMU sensor is a complete inertial navigation sensor system integrating a triaxial MEMS gyroscope angular rate sensor, a triaxial digital accelerometer, a triaxial magnetometer electronic compass, and a digital barometric pressure sensor altimeter with an onboard sensor fusion algorithm and attitude estimation engine. As a pin-compatible ADIS16488 drop-in replacement smart IMU, this intelligent inertial sensor module outputs real-time attitude and orientation data including roll angle, pitch angle, and yaw heading angle alongside fully compensated 6-DOF inertial measurements through CAN bus, SPI digital interface, and UART serial port.


The 16488HB smart IMU features 0.8deg/h gyro Allan variance bias instability, 0.15deg/sqrt-h angular random walk ARW, and +-2000deg/s wide dynamic measurement range. The built-in sensor fusion engine pre-computes attitude and orientation data, significantly reducing the host processor MCU computational workload and enabling faster real-time control loop execution. The integrated magnetometer provides 2.5 gauss magnetic heading reference for compass navigation, while the barometer altimeter (300~1100mbar) enables accurate altitude estimation, making this 10-axis IMU AHRS ideal for UAV drone autonomous navigation, autonomous vehicle positioning, gimbal stabilization, robotics attitude control, and precision inertial measurement applications.


Engineered for robust field deployment with 20000 hours MTBF, full temperature calibration from -40degC to +80degC, and proven reliability under 6.06G random vibration (20~2000Hz) and 1000G high-G shock impact (0.5ms half-sine). The 16488HB from Firepower delivers high-performance IMU capability at competitive MEMS pricing. CE certified, made in China.
